Cezanne

The newly completed purchase of the 98-passenger Cezanne adds an eighth ship to Peter Deilmann Cruises' European river fleet and its second new ship for the 2000 season. The six-year-old MV Cezanne will undergo a lavish refurbishing this winter and will make her inaugural voyage as a five-star vessel on France's Rhone and Saône rivers on April 1, 2000.

Cruises on the MV Cezanne will feature seven-night itineraries through the Burgundy and Provence regions of France with one-way sailings from Avignon to Lyon or Lyon to Avignon. Ports of call on the cruises include the Provencal city of Arles, the wine town Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Viviers and Tournon in the Ardeche region and Trévoux -- starting point for visits to the Beaujolais wine villages.

The new five-star MV Cezanne will join Deilmann's other vessel in France, the four-star Princesse de Provence, which sails round-trip weekly from Lyon, offering travelers a choice of two ships with different itineraries. With only 98 passengers and larger cabins than the Princesse de Provence, the ship will provide all the amenities of a small luxury hotel in the heart of France.
